Update 1997 February 28: The league has announced the six teams that will be in the league in 1997:
The league will play an 84-game schedule from May 29 through August 29, with playoffs to follow. Bob Dicey of Massachusetts will be the league commissioner. Players interested in tryouts should contact the league office to be placed on the mailing list for information and registration materials.

The 1996 North Atlantic Baseball League season ran from June 9th to August 31st.. Six teams in the league: Altoona Rail Kings, Catskill Cougars, Massachusetts Mad Dogs, Nashua Hawks, Newark Barge Bandits, and Welland Aqua-Ducks,battled for the championship in the league's sophomore season, with the Cougars coming out on top.
