Tim Whitman was named as the league's new Director of Public Relations in February 5, 1996. A resident of West Islip, New York, he is a 1995 graduate of St. John's University, graduating with a degree in athletic administration. His previous work includes public relations positions with Madison Square Garden, the U.S. Open (tennis), and St. John's University. Whitman is the first person to assume this new position in the league front office. He will act as a liaison between the league and the local and national media on a daily basis, write all press releases regarding league matters, and enhance the public's awareness of the league's teams and players. Tim will also assist league president Edward Broidy with the day-to-day operations of the league.
