- The Nashua Hawks have signed Demetrius Figgins, a righthanded third baseman from Tampa FL; Brian O'Hare, a 22-year-old righthanded pitcher from Staten Island, NY; Robert Peloquin, a 21-year-old infielder/outfielder from Agawam, MA; David Scranton, a lefthanded pitcher from Monroeton, PA; and John Spiedel, a 22-year-old righthanded pitcher from Ayer, MA.
May 22:
- The Newark Barge Bandits have named Bob Deutschman pitching coach. Deutschman was the pitching coach at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, since 1993, helping set team ERA records of 2.77 in 1993 and 2.43 in 1995.
May 17:
- The Altoona Rail Kings have signed lefthanded pitcher Mike Cacciotti, another Altoona native who is a recent graduate of Mansfield University. The Rail Kings are now at their roster limit of 22 players but will consider changes based on upcoming local tryouts.

- The Altoona Rail Kings have signed Jeff Andrews, a catcher formerly with the Reds organization; Carlos Mirabal, a righthanded pitcher previously with the Yankees organization; and Jeremy Nugent, a 19-year-old righthanded pitcher.
- The Rail Kings will be holding a local tryout on May 31 at 9am, with registration beginning at 8am.
May 4:
- The Newark Barge Bandits resigned 1995 picting star Germaine (Gerry) Hunter. Hunter finished last season with an 8-3 record and 1.36 ERA for the league champions, leading the league in wins, ERA, games started (12), games completed (6), shutouts (3), strikeouts (120), and innings pitched (99).
- The Altoona Rail Kings signed righthanded pitchers Farley Love and Brent Sagedal. Love played for Greenwood, SC team in the Atlantic Coast League and Sagedal played in the Texas Rangers organization.
May 1:
- The Altoona Rail Kings have signed five more players: Peter Dallas, a righthanded pitcher from Miami; Howard Hill, an outfielder from Saraland, Alabama who pitched for Greenwood, SC in the Atlantic Coast League; Tim Mitchell, an infielder from Los Angeles formerly with the Red Sox organization; William Reed, an infielder from Birmingham, Alabama formerly with the Texas Rangers organization; and Justin Stanko, a lefthanded pitcher from Bartow, Florida.
- Eric Reichert has been added to the Altoona Rail Kings staff list as Owner/President.
- The Catskill at Altoona game on August 7th has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on August 10th, starting at 3:05pm.
- The Nashua Hawks have a new logo.
